the food business celebrates 8 years
the food business was established by owners, cindy halasz and john gabel in 2003 following a mutual pursuit in all things food. back then, the pair operated out of the hazelwood park restaurant, providing quality in-house dining and out catering in patrons’ homes, workplaces, and also public spaces. with john at the helm in the kitchen and cindy holding fort on the floor, they soon became firm friends as well as business partners, both applying a very hands on approach to their work - a practice that has been carried right the way through. these days it is extremely rare to see two hospitality business partners working a function together, but john and cindy would not have it any other way!
now, more than eight years on, the company has expanded with an additional two venues - moonlight cinema and recently Bistro by the food business, downstairs at the dunstan playhouse in the adelaide festival centre. while the menus vary slightly at each of the venues, the same premium quality food philosophies are applied across the board to ensure a high level of consistency. you might even recognise some of the friendly waiting staff who work across the trifecta of venues.
patrons have shown incredible loyalty over the years and the food business has felt privileged catering for their important milestones, including birthdays, weddings, christenings and anniversaries.
